Day 13 - Highway 79 to Casa Grande

Critter of the day - we found this guy inside and sent him outside.

The very tidy town of Florence. Wonderful historic frontage - completely unoccupied. Where have all the townsfolk gone?

While the townsfolk are occupied with the dramatic cloudscape - the aliens cast their arrival shadows on the land.

The World Famous Sphinx of the Americas.

Once again, we find an endless dirt road. There are always secret Government Installations at the end of endless dirt roads.

Now we know where all the Florence townsfolk have gone.

The Goverment is deadly serious about this closed area. That's the very latest robo-sentry on duty over there. Some unnamed military contractor dreamed them up after TV-binging on Battlestar Galactica.

This landing site has been hard to keep secret, even with the robo-sentries.

And here is one - slumped into the desert - trying to be stealthy - the stunning light beaming down is not helping the cause. Can governments ever get anything right?
